Birth Story

I had this typed on another site so I just copied and pasted it here. I also entered the original date I wrote it.

Well I gained 54 with this pregnancy and less than two weeks was back to my original weight so that's a plus. Yay for breastfeeding!

I had my little girl, Tehya LeeAnne, on January 7th, at 1:01am, she was 8 pounds, 19 1/2 inches long, born 8 days after her due date.

I started having contractions at home around 12 noon the 6th, they weren't too painful so I didn't leave for the hospital till my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart (hospital is only 5 mins away).

I'd been 2 cm's dilated and 50% effaced for the past 2 weeks, and when I got to the hospital at 5pm, I was 4cm and I think 90% effaced, my contractions were 1 1/2-2 mins apart. My contractions weren't too terribly painful, they hurt but I could cope, and at 8pm when they checked me again I was 9 cm's, so they called the doc and when he got there they broke my water and said to start pushing.

Everything was smooth sailing and not to painful (I had no drugs) so I was in for a shocker when I started pushing because it was extremely painful. I pushed for a long and hard 5 hours and had my angel at 1:01am. The doc said I pushed so hard I started to push things out I weren't supposed to push out, and I ripped from front to back and got lots of stitches.

I lost a lot of blood so the day I was supposed to go home I had an "episode", blurred vision, slurred speech. shortness of breath, numb legs, etc etc, and it was a result of so much lost blood, I needed to get a blood transfusion (two actually) and stay in the hospital a couple more days.

Anyhow, I'm doing good now and my baby came out perfect and healthy, and I'm so in love with her and would do it all over again for her if I had to, it was completely worth it.
